2010 Summer Activity #2:
Branch Flag Contest
Use this simple template (click here) as a guideline and be a creative as you want in making a flag that represents the uniqueness of our branch & DMI. You can make it silly, serious, patriotic, etc.
Keep in mind that the flags will be scaled down so that you can put it in your forum signature, therefore intricate details may not look the same in the smaller version.
When you submit your flag feel free to include a brief explanation letting us know why you selected certain colors/shapes/emblems/etc.
Flag submissions are due by June 30th. Please post them in this thread.
2010 Summer Activity #1:
The Office Survivor Game

How does it work:
All of the characters of The Office have found themselves on an island together this summer. It is now up to YOU to decide who stays and who goes. Each character will begin with 20 points. Everyday you are allowed to use 3 points, you can add points to the person or people you want to stay on the island and you can subtract points from the person that you want removed from the island. Do you have what it takes to protect your favorite character(s)? When/if on your turn you are able to remove someone from the island you get to come up with a creative way for them to leave...you can be silly, serious, or scary! It's up to you!
How to Play:
You can take a turn ONCE everyday. On each turn you can use up to 3 points; no more than that.
- You can only ADD 1 point to a character at a time. (You cannot choose to add 2-3 points to one specific character during one turn.)
- If you want to remove points from a character, you have to SUBTRACT 2 points from any one character at a time.

3. Write a poem in the biggest heart. The poem should be written to one of the characters from The Office.
Make sure to type "TO:__character's name__ & FROM:__your username__" somewhere on the picture.
The poem should be a take on the "Roses are red, violets are blue" poem. Something short with a similar rhyme. There is a 20 word limit. CLICK HERE for an example of a finished card.
4. Post your finished card in this thread before the deadline.
*For those of you who don't want to (or can't) do this on the computer using a program like Paint, you can simply print the template and break out the crayons/markers/glitter/etc. and follow the rest of the directions. Then take a picture of your card and post it instead. As long as we can read the poem then you can enter it!
DEADLINE for submissions is Friday, February 5th @ 11:59pm (CST)
After the deadline has passed a poll will be set up. The submission with the most votes will win a desk item(s) that they choose worth 500 SBs and a graphic they can display in their signature if they choose.

Medford's Easter Egg Coloring Contest [deadline passed]
Here is an optional mini-task for all of you!
The rules are simple and the reward is EGG-cellent! Are you EGG-cited?
DIRECTIONS:
You can either copy & save the BLANK EGG TEMPLATE
and decorate it ANY way you wish, uploading your design in the thread
OR
If you have the capabilities you can print the template and decorate it in RL however you wish
and take a pic or scan it and upload your work of art in the thread
RULES:
One submission per person and you have to 'color inside the lines' -- it's just an egg decorating contest, not the whole page/background. You can think outside the box, as long as you stay inside the EGG!
Other than that, have fun with it. Be creative.
DEADLINE:
Submit your entry to this thread no later than Thursday April 9th by 12:00pm (PST)
After the deadline all entries will be eligible for voting.
A poll will be set up in this thread and all of Medford will vote on the best egg!
The poll will be posted immediately after the entry deadline and voting will close Friday April 10th by 12:00pm
REWARD:
The Winner gets a virtual trophy/pic to display in their signature AND desk item(s) of their choosing valued at 200 Sbs!
2nd Branch Challenge: Treasure Hunt [deadline passed]
It's time for Medford's second branch challenge!
On December 26th I will post a list of clues. Your job? To find the answers throughout the branch by the posted deadline.
The answers can be found in our branch forum, in the main DMI forums, and within your co-worker's profile pages (virtual office). The first five branch members to d-mail or PM me the correct answers (please don't post them here, otherwise you may give away the answers to others), will receive one of the following for their virtual desk (worth $200 SBs each):

3. University of Scranton Desk Clock
4. Siamese Cat
5. Porcelain Jackpot
Each winner will get to choose which item they would like to receive from me. Once we have five winners, I will post the answer key in the branch thread. Branch members have until January 9th to pm or d-mail me the answers, but may do so sooner.
